Modulisme Session: Spécial Philippe Petit und “Sisters with Transistors” | So. 1.10., 20:00-22:00

Diesmal eine Modulisme Session mit zweistündigem Spezialprogramm:

(1) A Transmission dealing with the music of PHILIPPE PETIT, founder of Modulisme
Celebrating 40 years of music-activism in 2023, he started djing, animating radio shows and editing fanzines in 1983. Interviewing such bands as Nirvana, Pixies, Nick Cave, Lydia Lunch, and many other “noisy-rock” luminaries. Throughout the 90s, Philippe Petit ran Pandemonium Records and then BiP_HOp musique was physically born in 2000. Music challenging the ears and the mind, he ran labels during 25 years and released around 100 records.

Since the early 2000s, he has been composing and performing, playing festivals all over Europe, Canada, USA, Australia & Asia, and releasing on several international labels such as Monotype, Sub Rosa, Important, Public Eyesore or Cronicà Electronica. 

Tonight’s session is called “Drinking the Acheron river at its source”, which has been released this month: a prequel to “My Divine Comedy”, Petit’s most ambitious work to appear in 2024 on the label Crónica.


(2) VARIOUS ARTISTS: “SISTERS WITH TRANSISTORS”
A special of the “Early ElectroMIX” series, dedicated to female composers, compiled by Philippe Petit.

Early ElectroMIX is a series documenting the history of experimental electronic music from the 1950s to the 1980s. Featuring composers making use of electronic instruments, test equipment, generators of synthetic signals and sounds, to analogue synthesizers.
