Doug Lynner is a lifelong musician whose career started as a keyboardist and guitarist in psychedelic rock bands in the 1960s. In parallel he got a college degree in electronic music composition from the California Institute of the Arts, where he studied with Morton Subotnick, Harold Budd, James Tenny, Leonid Hambro and Nicholis England. He performs internationally, host a weekly FM radio show (“Bloop and Quack”), teaches electronic music and music composition privately, and hosts free modular synthesizer tutorial videos.
Jos Smolders started working with Philips reel-to-reel recorders when he was 15 years old. During the early 1980s, when studying at the university, he got exposed to Pierre Schaeffers and Pierre Henry’s “Symphonie” and began researching and made his first collages and recordings. From there, things evolved. He has recorded countless albums and collaborations and since 10 years is also a mastering engineer working mainly in the field of electronic music.
“Deeper Sea Creatures” ist ein Album für modulare Synthesizer, 2021 veröffentlicht von Philippe Petit, dem Begründer und Betreiber von Modulisme. Es ist die Fortsetzung des Albums “Deep Sea Creatures” (2020).
The term deep sea creature refers to organisms that live below the photic zone of the ocean. First chapter “Deep Sea Creatures” retraced those species swimming in abyssal zones. This sequel is aiming at picturing their exchanges, unfathomable dialogues in rime or not?!
